Memorial portraiture is a category within art dedicated to preserving the memory of a loved one who has passed away. The aim is to capture the essence and spirit of the individual, serving as a reminder of their presence. They can be created using various mediums from pencil to charcoal to digital illustration and beyond. Nowadays we are inundated with photos of the people in our lives, on our phones, in albums, but there's something just that much more special about getting a portrait to commemorate a loved one and can have bigger emotional impact than a photo.

My Portraits
I have always had a penchant to drawing people, with a particular passion for portraiture and realism. There’s something very profound about what a person’s face can reveal—their emotions, their zest for life, their entire story. Every wrinkle and every scar carries meaning, and my goal is to capture that in my art.
I specialize in creating realistic, black-and-white tonal drawings using graphite pencils. Each portrait is meticulously hand-drawn with great attention to detail. The standard size for my portraits is A4, but I can also provide A3 and A5 sizes upon request.
My work is based on photographs you provide. If you have a cherished photo that you’ve always wanted recreated on a larger scale, I can bring that vision to life. The photo can be in any size or condition; while higher-quality images are preferred, I can enhance older or blurry photos to ensure the best possible result. My priority is to faithfully recreate the image of your loved one in a way that resonates with you.
In the future, I hope to expand my craft into hyperrealism, and any contributions to support my learning in this area are greatly appreciated. I am committed to achieving as much realism as possible in every portrait I create.
Frames
A frame gives that extra piece of life to the drawing. My drawings will be given to you already framed and I will give a selection of colours for you to chose from when purchasing. However if you wish to use your own frame, please request a drawing without a frame and I will pack the drawing in a circular tube to keep the paper protected when shipping.
My frames are stocked from local suppliers. They come with 2 hooks on the back to be hung either vertically or horizontally as well with a stand to sit on a shelf or table. The frames are made out of wood and there are a selection of colours you can choose from. All frames are glass panels with a wooden back.
